2Prior college & national agreements

Went to a community college or university, or trained with a national partner (ACI Learning, Per Scholas, Microsoft Software & Systems Academy, IBM, StraighterLine and others)? WGU publishes exactly which courses transfer from each partner.

1. Open WGU's Transfer Pathways site and pick your state (for your previous college) or National Agreements.
2. Find your school, then choose School of Technology → your program. The table there tells you exactly which of your credits transfer to which WGU course.
3. Tick those courses in the Prior college column of the degree plan in Step 5 below.

3Certifications you already hold

Check every certification you've earned within the last 5 years. The planner marks every course WGU's transfer guidelines list it for. Some certs clear several courses, but confirm the final count with an Enrollment Counselor.

4Sophia & Study.com: your pre-start plan

These are cheap, self-paced courses students take before their WGU start date to knock out requirements. Transcripts must reach WGU by the 5th of the month before you start, and nothing is accepted after you start. Mappings come from WGU's own agreements with each platform.

Pick one platform per course. Never use them for a course whose built-in certification voucher you want, because clearing the course means giving up the free exam.
